suite of the pointed first letters of the name of an organisation. eg B.O.A.C. , B.B.C., N.A.T.O., N.A.S.A..
When the "sigle" can be read like a simple word, it becomes an "acronym" : Nato, Nasa, Faq,...so B.B.C. is just a "sigle"
